平和になったある日、人間に紛れていた鬼が自分を殺してほしいと懇願してきた。地界のほかに天界、魔界が存在し、神の存在も示唆されている。

サリーは彼との出会いを契機に旅立ち、外の世界で様々なことを知っていくのだった。外の世界の話を聞きながら案内をしている中、猛鬼と画策した爺鬼が鬼が食すための生贄を出すよう王を脅迫していた。一方そのころ、リムダールを攻め落とすため二匹の高鬼が近づいていた。遠い東の国、日本では桃から生まれた青年、吉備津彦尊が鬼の巣鬼島の首領を退けた。
